2 weeks later...

Oops!  It's been a while.  Nothing new to report.  Things are going great!  We are on SPRING BREAK right now.

You know how I was sick a month or so ago?  I was sick again.  I had strep throat a week and a half ago.  What's going on?  I hadn't been sick all school year, then suddenly I get sick twice.  Both of them knocked me on my behind.  I ran a fever with both of them, especially the strep throat.  When it was 80° outside, I was  under 3 blankets shivering.  Blech!  I got sent home from work running a fever.  Abby got sent home with impetigo.  She watched TV while I snored on the couch.  When we went back to school on Monday, the principal told Abby s he looked better and she told me, "Welcome back to the land of the living."  I must have looked horrible!  I feel SOOOOO much better now!!!

I've been reading a lot lately in my free time.  Now that I have some!  I just finished a 5 books series by Lisa Klaypas.  I loved them!  Some were better than others.  2 of them especially!  They had me hooked.  I'd literally finish one book, then start on the next.  Lisa was very good about leading up to the next book at the end of each book.  Especially the end of book 3 into book 4.  It was 11pm when I finished on Wednesday night, but I just had to know what happened next, so I didn't end up going to bed until almost 1am.  I had to get up at 5:45am for work.  Oh well!  It was worth it!

As I was reading those, Shawn read The Hunger Games.  I finished reading it yesterday.  I read 30 pages on Friday, but had trouble getting into it.  The beginning is SLOW.  I didn't read any of it on Saturday.  I picked it back up yesterday and ended up finishing the book.  Once you get past part 1, the book picks up quite a bit.  Once you get to part 3 and the games begin, its hard to put the book down.  Every so often Shawn would ask me where I was at in the book.  I'd tell him and then give a prediction.  He wouldn't tell me if I was right or wrong.  There was a twist towards then end that I didn't see coming.  Yes, I know they are teenage/young adult books, but Shawn and I liked it.  We are on the waiting list at the library for the second book called Catching Fire.  The library is getting another Lisa Kleypas series, so I will read those while Shawn reads Catching Fire.  Now we need to go see the movie.

After finishing The Hunger Games, I started a Johanna Lindsey book last night.  I finished that a bit ago.  It wasn't very good.  I am getting ready to read the 2nd book in that series.  I hope its better.

I should be 21 weeks and 5 days pregnant today.  I can't help but have sad moments.  Today is one of those days.  It doesn't help that I'm hormonal.  My poor family!  This is TMI, so read at your own risk!!!  I am having my first period since I miscarried on January 10th.  Let me tell you, my hormones are all over the place.  I cried earlier and I've been kind of grouchy.  Okay, I've been a lot grouchy.  That's partly why I'm reading so much right now.  If not, I want to snap at Shawn and the kids.  I'm not normally this way, but I imagine my body is finally trying to get back to normal.  Shawn is so understanding!  I'm so lucky to have him.  He takes the kids outside to play baseball while I read and keep to myself.  LOL!

About it here...

Have a wonderful week!!!

Yeah!

Shawn and I bought concert tickets today!  We bought tickets to Luke Bryan/Jason Aldean!!!  It's going to be forever waiting until that day arrives, but it will be worth it.  We already saw Jason Aldean a couple of years ago.  He's had a few number one hits since then.  Right now my ringtone is Luke Bryan's I Don't Want this Night to End.  Happy Anniversary to us!

This week...

Was a busy week!

It started last weekend.  Zac had some quality dad time and so did Abby.  No, I didn't go with them and interrupt their quality time.  Unlike some people, I didn't go the the DADDY/DAUGHTER dance when I'm the MOM!  I know someone who has to go as well.  She has to control everything and everyone.  Oh well!  Not my problem!  Thank Goodness!

The week started with testing.  I think testing makes teachers and students tired.  It was just a busy week.

Yesterday I spent the day at my mom's.  We played cards and I won!  Okay, I lost.  My mama kicked my behind.  Shawn came over after work and we watched a boring movie.  It was a great day!

Now I'm making a ham, corn casserole, broccoli casserole, and rolls for our anniversary dinner tonight.  Its a rather large ham, so we will be eating on it all week.

Oh, by the way.  Do you remember the post about everything going wrong one week?  I had a friend tell me she felt some anxiety just reading my post.  I think she's had those weeks as well!  Sorry!

Take Care!!!

It's a great day!!!

Happy 6th Anniversary to Shawn and I!!!  Yes, we made it 6 YEARS and not 6 months like some unkind people said.  I LOVE informing you that we will be together forever!!!  I'm not going anywhere!!!!!!!!!!!

Shawn got the day off today, so its wonderful to spend it together!!!!!!  We were engaged in this picture!

Have a wonderful day!!!

Super Dad!

Shawn is the most amazing dad ever!

Yesterday he went on Abby's field trip with her to the Children's museum.

This morning he took Zac to the "Manly" barber shop (instead of the "sissy" salon) to get his hair cut.  Those were "the men's" (Shawn and Zac's) words when they came home.  ;-)

After Zac's haircut, Shawn took him to his baseball tryouts/draft.

Shawn and Abby just left for the daddy daughter dance.  Here are some pics.  Aren't they adorable?

Zac and I are going to have pizza, popcorn, pop, and Netflix tonight.

I have to most adorable family ever!  Isn't Shawn wonderful?  How could I not love someone that amazing???

Politics...

I have to admit, I'm terrible about following politics. I wait until an election year to pay attention. There's just so much propaganda, I never know what to think.

Since this is an election year, I've started surfing the internet for info.  I need a more efficient way to keep up with everything.  I found this article helpful:   http://www.tecca.com/columns/how-to-follow-politics-online-computing-everywhere/

On it, I found these websites helpful:

U.S. House of Representatives http://www.house.gov/
U.S. Senate http://senate.gov/
Supreme Court of the U.S. http://www.supremecourt.gov/
The White House http://www.whitehouse.gov/

FactCheck.org http://www.factcheck.org/
PolitiFact http://www.politifact.com/

Now that I've admitted that I'm terrible at it, what can I do about it?  I do have an interest in following politics.   Is there anything else I can be doing to become more involved?  Advice, comments, emails, etc. are welcome!

Thanks!

Sick

I have not been this sick in a long time.  I think the last time I was this sick was when I was student teaching and got infected with the lovely H1N1.  I felt fine Friday during the day.  It wasn't until that evening that I started sneezing and my sinuses become congested.  Now I can't breathe through my nose, I can't hear, my nose is sore from blowing/running, my ribs hurt from coughing, and my head hurts from sinus headaches.  Yes, I think I'm falling to pieces!  My poor kids wanted to play outside all weekend, but I wouldn't let them because Shawn was at work and all I could do was nap on the couch.  They watched a lot of Disney movies while making fun of my snoring.  I heard, "Wow, mom!  You really snored loud!  I've never heard anyone snore that loud!"  Gee thanks kids!  I can't help it I snore like a freight train when I can't breathe through my nose.  I missed work yesterday and went to the express med clinic.  It wasn't very express, though.  I had to wait over and hour to see someone.  She was very nice, but she wrote me a note for work and told me to stay home today too.  I told her I needed to work with my students this close to ISTEP.  She told me, tough.  She said I needed to have antibiotics in me 24 hours before going back.  1, because I am contagious until then and 2, because I won't feel any better until then.  She said if I push myself, I will be back in to see her by the end of the week.

I got up this morning and tried to get going, but I just couldn't do it.  I wish the Dr. wasn't right.  I really wanted to go back to work today.  I cried about it this morning!  I am not the kind of person that likes to take time off.  I usually push myself and work through it.  This stinks!

We dropped the kids off at school and I got my tutoring papers ready to go for my sub.  My boss told me to stay away from her, that she didn't want it.  She said she had it really bad a few years ago and didn't want it like that again.  She told me not to come back tomorrow if I'm no better.  I will be better!  I will be back at work tomorrow no matter what!

Shawn just said that I'm trying to get my husband sick.  He's had it mildly this weekend/week.  I told him round 1 was mild for me too (over a week ago), its round 2 that put me down.

Goodnight!  A nap is calling my name!
