Mommy Daughter Tea

Don't mind us squinting against the sun! We went to the mommy daughter tea for girl scouts today. We had fun. The girls made us mommies a vase using recycled glass jars. Inside each vase was a philodendron. I'll have to take a picture and post it soon.

Shawn and Zac played baseball.

I'm still walking. I have lost another pound as well!!!!! We walked around the block this afternoon. It's 3.6 or 3.8 miles. I can't remember. Shawn is down 40 pounds since August and I am down 16 pounds. Not near as much as Shawn. Ganted, I had IVF, pregnancy, and miscarriage during that time.

Oh wow! I just counted and there are only 23 days left of school. I can't believe that!

Have a great week everyone!!!

And breathe...

I am trying to work my behind off!  Literally!  I joined the "Get out and Walk" challenge in Delphi with some friends.

I walked 4 miles Sunday.

I walked 6.3 miles total Monday.  3.5 miles were exercise.

I walked 8.25 miles yesterday.  5.25 miles were exercise.

I walked 6.5 miles today.  3.5 miles were exercise.

I don't think I've lost any weight this week either.  I am using myfitnesspal.com on the computer and I have an app on my phone for it.  I make sure I stay under my daily calorie amount and I exercise.  I guess I was hoping the pounds would melt away.

Tomorrow is weigh in day.

My kids are awesome!  They are taking NWEA this week.  They are both showing improvement and their scores are above where they need to be!  I'm one lucky mama to have such smart kids!

Zac's MRI was normal.  His pituitary gland was smaller than normal.  The nurse said this is common when you have a hgh deficiency.  We will get to start his shots very soon now!

About it here...

Take care!!!!

Gah!

Why do kids test you???  Why do they do you give them specific directions when they do what they want anyway?

Please tell me they grow out of this!?!?!?

Not a lot going on here...

Thank you mom for watching the kiddos!  Shawn and I had a date night and the kids spent the night at mom and dad's.  We FINALLY saw the Hunger Games.  Of course, many of the details had to be left out for time reasons, but it wasn't too bad at all.

I hope you had a great weekend!!!

Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!

Yes, that was me screaming like a little girl.  Shawn and I just watched The Thing.  When the alien broke out of the ice, I screamed, jumped, and pulled the blanket over my eyes.  I'm brave, huh?

Haha!  I just heard a noise and jumped.

I can't remember if I relayed this information in a previous post, but yes, Zac does have a growth hormone deficiency.  His hormones measured at 9.8 mcg and they like to see them at a minimum of 10.  Tonight we drove to Indy after school so he could have an MRI.  It was to make sure he doesn't have any abnormalities with his pituitary gland.  If that come back clear, we should get to start the hgh shots soon.  Zac was once in the 50% of height when he was 5.  He is now in like the 1%, or something along those lines.  He was so brave and awesome again tonight!  We should have the results of his MRI next week sometime.

We had Subway on the way home.  Yum!

I was so tired when we got home, I only walked 30 minutes on the treadmill and jogged 5 minutes.  Yes, you read that correctly, I did jog.  I knew I didn't have it in me to do a full hour, so I made the last 5 minutes count.  I thought I was going to die.  LOL!  I managed to power walk 20 minutes earlier today, so I at least got some exercise.  I need to make sure I make up for it tomorrow.  Yesterday I got 100 minutes of walking in.  I hope to walk during Zac's baseball practice.  Unless its raining, that is.

About it here.  Take Care!!!!!!!

Say what???

Blogger changed their layout when typing posts.  I'm a creature of habit, so I'm not sure if I like it.  Time will tell.  I didn't walk last night, but I did again tonight.  I feel good about myself!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!  Here are my adorable kids...

We are watching Long Island Medium right now.  This show is entertaining.  Her family is so mean to her.

Zac had baseball pictures taken tonight.  I can't wait to see them!!!

Take Care Everyone!!!

Life is Grand!!!

It was an ideal spring day, a light blue sky, flecked with little fleecy white clouds drifting across from west to east. The sun was shining very brightly, and yet there was an exhilarating nip in the air, which set an edge to a man's energy. ~Arthur Conan Doyle

I thought that was a somewhat appropriate quote for this morning's weather.  We froze at baseball practice, but it was oh so beautiful out!

Playing First Base

Abby Freezing, LOL!

Batting Practice

Shawn and I never made it to see The Hunger Games, yet.  Anyone want to babysit next weekend?  This song is made for the movie, or something along that line.

The kids are outside playing right now in this beautiful sun!  I was out with them for a while.  I really need to clean up the garage.  It's cluttered.

During Zac's baseball practice last night, Abby and I went to Walmart in Monticello.  I also came home and walked on the treadmill at a 6% incline for 30 minutes.  I know its not much, but I am out of shape and it was 9:30 when I finished.  I walked earlier for 30 minutes at a 7% incline.  I think we are going for a 2 mile walk tonight when Shawn gets home from work.  Technically, its 2.2 miles.  I am trying so hard!  I've lost 13 pounds since I miscarried 12 weeks ago by cutting out unhealthy food and walking laps for 25 minutes at school.  Its not a lot, but then again, I didn't gain it all overnight so I can't expect to lose it all overnight.  Unfortunately, I've been dancing around the same number for about 2-3 weeks.  That's why I'm trying to walk even more.  I really hope to continue this trend!!!

EDIT:  I just walked an hour on the treadmill.  I was feeling good about that, until just now.  One of my Facebook friends is trying to find someone to run 8 miles with her in the morning.

After baseball practice today we had Subway for lunch and picked a few things up at the grocery store.  That's about it here.

Take Care Everyone!  Have a WONDERFUL Easter!!!

3 Loads of Laundry                √
Unload Dishwasher                √
Pay Bills                                √
Make out Shopping List         √

I still need to:

Walk at least 30 minutes.  (Good thing we have a treadmill, it might be 9pm before I get a chance to.)
Go Shopping

I think I'm having cowboy coffee today.  Apparently I collapsed the coffee filter when I put it in.  Oops!  Now I have coffee grounds in the bottom of my cup.  Oh well!

I AM SO TIRED!  I have no reason to be.  I just am.  Shawn called a little bit ago and said he was tired as well.  I thought coffee would help, but its not yet...

Take Care!!!

Good Friday!

"Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.
In you, O LORD, I take refuge;
let me never be put to shame.
In your justice rescue me.
Into your hands I commend my spirit;
you will redeem me, O LORD, O faithful God."
- Psalm 31

It seems strange having the day off.  I'm not complaining!  I'm not sure why, but this week was very tiring.  I need to start some laundry.  I have about 4 loads I need to do.  It never ends!

I'm watching a Gregory Peck movie right now.  I haven't watched a movie on TCM in a long time.  I also need to take a walk.  I walk every day for at least 25 minutes.  I also need to go grocery shopping.  As soon as this movie is over in 10 minutes, I suppose I better get my behind in gear.

Have a blessed weekend!!!

Spring Break!!!

Some People...

Anyway~

We had an awesome spring break.  We didn't do a lot, but it was still fun.  I read a lot!  It was great!  I love to read, but it seems like I never have time.  I read:

Married by Morning by Lisa Kleypas
Love in the Afternoon by Lisa Kleypas
Brave the Wild Wind by Johanna Lindsey
  Savage Thunder by Johanna Lindsey
  Angel by Johanna Lindsey
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
  Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins
  Mockingbird by Suzanne Collins
The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks

9 books in 10 days.  Not too shabby!  Shawn read The Hunger Games trilogy over spring break as well.  Now we need to see the movie.

We went to Indy on Wednesday to the Peyton Manning Children's Hospital for Zac to have a human growth hormone test done.  We left at 6:15 am.  We got down there and the hospital was out of power.  The back up generators had problems as well.  Our nurse said she'd worked their 22 years and its never happened before.  I don't know what the cause was.  It was a mess.  Only one elevator was working, so it took us a bit to get to the 7th floor.  Of course, we had to reschedule the test for Friday.

Since we were in Indy, we went to the zoo.  The kids and I loved the Dolphin show.  We took a tour of Lucas Oil Stadium.  It was fun!  We got to walk on the field, visit the suites that are only $50,000-$200,000 a season.  Meh, pocket change...  The quarterback suite was awesome.  Shawn and the kids made fun of me.  We took the elevator up to the top/7th floor.  The elevators are glass looking out into the city.  Zac said, "Mom, look out.  It's cool."  I said, "No, thank you."  I'm a chicken.  I'm afraid of heights.  So is Shawn.

We got Zac's test results back today.  He does have a deficiency in his growth hormone production.  The next step is an MRI.  If that clears, I think we move on to giving Zac hgh shots.

About it here!  Take Care!!!

Don't miss the pics below.

Spring Break

Somehow the pics got mixed up.  Oh well...

Zac during his hgh test.

He watched Captain America.  Ironic?  Captain America was tiny before they injected him and made him grow larger.  Think it was hgh they injected him with?

Can you believe that huge window and that huge roof both open?  It takes the window 6 minutes to open and the roof 11 minutes to open.

It's Good!!!

I hope you enjoyed!!!
