3rd post for the day!

Well, I had to post pics!

IVF stuff below.  Don't read if you don't want to read anything personal!  LOL!

I had my second ultrasound and bloodwork this morning.  First ones since starting the stimulating meds on Friday.  That made this morning day 3 1/2 of the meds.  I had more than 10 follicles growing in each ovary.  Most of them were between 8-10mm.  18mm or more is mature.  The lining of my uterus looked good.  The dr. said to continue my meds at the same dose.  I don't have to up them or anything!  I go back for my next ultrasound and bloodwork on Wednesday.

I am so bloated!  My left ovary has a twinge every so often.  I have felt nauseous on and off all day.  I've also had a headache all day.  All from the meds.  Other than that, I'm great!  LOL!  It will be SO worth it!

Take Care!

What do Darth Vader and Cinderella have in common?

They are both my kids!!!

Farm-Yesterday

Here are some more pics from yesterday....

Shawn moving the other tractor out of the field.

I rode along for a bit, so the kids sat in the floor.  Yes, we did have a family of 4 all in a tractor.

Kids

Monica took a couple pics of the grandkids.  I thought I would share those.

Thank you for sharing the pictures with us Monica!

~Sam

Working Ground....

Yes!  They are in a green tractor this time.  The kids love helping dad!  We went to the movies last night and had leftover popcorn, so the kids wanted to eat it while enjoying the ride.

We went and saw Paranormal Activity 3 last night.  Definitely better/scarier than the second one, but not as good as the first one.  In my opinion anyway.  That's about it here.  Colts are losing 20-0 at halftime.  Bob Lamey of the Colts said it best at the 2 minute warning.  "Don't ask what else can go wrong, because it will."

Day 3 of stimulating meds...

Why didn't the skeleton dance at the party?

Give in???  He had No Body to dance with!  Hahaha!  I know...  More kid humor.

Sara came over and spent the evening with us!  We ate at Subway then we went to Sleepy Hollow Hayrides tonight.  I am so proud of Abby!  She actually had her eyes open this year for it!  She also only screamed 10x or so.  Much improved over last year!  At the end of the hayride, we went through a covered bridge.  I'm glad I looked ahead.  I saw a huge 8 legged creature hanging, so I closed my eyes and covered my head before going through.  I am so glad I did!!!  Apparently the 8 legged freak moves down on a string or something along those lines.  Yeah... I don't do spiders!  At all!  As I'm sure you know.  Okay, my skin is starting to crawl...

New subject!

We just watched the pilot episode of the new TV show Grimm.  Not too bad, but I agree with Sara.  They need to have a good looking guy in each episode.  The star just doesn't cut it.  Now we're watching the ending of Twilight on FX.  Shawn doesn't seem too amused, but he's suffering through it.

I started my stimulating meds today!  I took my first dose of 75 units of Follistim this morning at 6:30 a.m.  I took my first dose of 1ml/2vials of Menopur about 6:30 tonight.  I also got to bring my Lupron down to 10 units.  I'm up to 3 shots a day.  I was doing fine giving myself the Lupron shots, but introducing 2 new (different types of)  needles made me hesitate before each shot.  The Follistim pen's needle kinda pinched.  I am going to be so hormonal!  I feel bad for my family!!!

I think we're going to see Paranormal Activity 3 tomorrow night.  I'm not sure I want to.  LOL!  I am a chicken when it comes to demons and evil things like that.

Yawn!  Night everyone!

It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown

We're getting ready to watch it on ABC.  We carved pumpkins today.  Okay, I carved and the kids gutted them.  I bought this handy dandy pumpkin carver the runs on 4 AA batteries.  It was well worth the $6.99!!!  Definitely saves time!  I've said it before, and its TRUE!  I have the world's cutest kids!  I'm not biased or anything!

We're going to Sleepy Hollow Hayrides tomorrow!  It is just north of Logansport.  Abby freaked out last year.  Lets hope this year is better!  I think we plan on seeing Paranormal Activity 3 on Saturday.  The second one wasn't very good, but this third one looks SCARY!  Time for Charlie Brown!

Well....

I had my baseline ultrasound and blood draw this morning.  No cysts, ovaries and uterus look good!  My estradiol is supposed to be <35.  It was 37, therefore I continue with the 20 units of Lupron until Friday, when I start my stimulating medicines.  At that time, I drop the Luron to 10 units.  Yeah!!!!!!   Here we go!!!

Crazy day!

I'm so glad its over!!!  I have my baseline ultrasound and blood draw tomorrow morning!  I can't wait!  If I get the "all clear", I get to start my stimulating injections on Friday!!!!!!  Wooohooooo!!!!!!!   10 days or so of those, then its egg retrieval time!  Wow!  Time is going quickly!!!

We are on FALL BREAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not much else going on here....

Abby was singing this and now its stuck in my head:

Private

Hey Guys!  Just wanted to let you know why I changed my blog to private...

Shawn and I had parent teacher conferences after school today.  I went up to the office to meet Shawn and lo and behold our kids' bio mom was there.  She is from Lafayette and has no reason to be there, that I am aware of.  She was with another lady.  When they saw us, they left.  They did not have a kid with them, so its not like they were picking up their kid/a walker.  Not sure what to think.  The office staff and the principal are aware.  I called our old DCS worker for this case and they were gone for the day.  I will talk to them tomorrow.  Crazy!

That's about it here.  We are watching Rio with the kiddos.

Night!

9 minutes until kickoff!

Shawn worked today, so we didn't do anything special.  The kids and I did several loads of laundry.  How exciting.... Not!

I made homemade pizza tonight.  I made a deluxe and a BBQ chicken.  Not to toot my own horn, but they were pretty darn good.

I finished a book today.  Its the first book I've read in a month.  I used to read almost every night, but I've been too busy lately.  Yes, it was a cheesy romance novel.  I'm not ashamed to admit it.  I love "smut" books as Shawn calls them.  Well, I don't like the harlequin or silhouette ones.  Those are too cheesy for even me, and I read some pretty cheesy ones.  LOL!  This book was called Swept Away and was  about sea captains, conspiracy, an heiress, pirates, etc.  Yep, all the makings of a cheesy romance novel.  Haha!

Tony Dungy is rubbing me the wrong way tonight.  I just wish he'd shush!

I heard this song this morning, and now its been in my head all day...

Parent teacher conferences tomorrow.  Just 2 days this week then we are on Fall Break!!!

Have a great week everyone!

Me and My Girls!

(L-R) Michelle, Me, Sara, and Carla.  Friday was Michelle's last day...  Good Luck in Texas!  We miss you already!

Not sure what was going on in the next pic....  Oh wait, this is how we really act!  I was getting ready to tie my shoe.

We have too much fun together!  We had Monical's pizza for lunch Friday and had a great time!

~Sam

Good Day!

We had a good day today!  The kids and I ate upstairs at The Stone House in Delphi for supper.  Of course we had a chocolate crinkle cookie!  After that we went to the new United Methodist Church and watched The Overtones sing.  They were very entertaining and we had a great time!  Wow!  The new church is nice!  You should see the children's area!

Please say some prayers for a fellow teacher!  Her husband passed away last night!  He had been battling cancer.  Many prayers!

Have a great night everyone!!!

~Sam

Lazy Saturday...

We cleaned house, but that's about it.  I watched a movie I DVR'd recently.  It was a Hallmark movie, so I watched in now while Shawn's at work.  I don't get him to watch many chick flicks with me.

The furnace is working again!  It stopped working yesterday morning.  I think we only have trouble when Shawn's at work.  I took care of it.  I called our heating guy.  A new pressure switch, and we're good to go...

I think the kids and I are going to eat out for supper tonight.  Shawn's on his own tonight!

Guess what?!?!  I took my last BCP (birth control pill) this morning!!!  My first ultrasound and blood draw is Wednesday!!!  Is this for real?!?!?  Are we really doing IVF???  Oh my!  After 5 1/2 years of trying to have a baby, this seems so unreal at times!!!  There is finally a real chance we can become parents of a baby!  The kids want it too!  They watch me give myself a shot every night and they talk about how they hope it works!  Zac thinks I'm crazy.  He thinks its crazy to give yourself shots in order to have a baby.  He doesn't think its worth it.  Abby on the other hand thinks it is definitely worth it.  They are going to be an awesome older brother and sister!  I feel so blessed to have 2 amazing (and cute) kids!  They keep me busy and I wouldn't have it any other way, even when they get into trouble!  Abby wants a girl and Zac wants a boy.  God willing, we will have either one!!!

About it over here in the Scott household!  Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Sad...

My "Partner in Crime" Mrs. Burkle is moving to Texas.  Her last day is tomorrow.  We had the same schedule last year and this year.  I'll definitely miss her!!!  We brought lunch in for her today.  We made her favorite foods.  I made broccoli cheddar soup.  It was yummy.  I love my stay or go crock pot.  Actually, its a Hamilton Beach slow cooker, but you know what I mean.

Well, I have taken 20 units of Lupron for 6 days now.  For the first 3 days, I felt a little itchy after taking it and I had a little nausea.  That went away and now I have a headache.  I'm not sure the headache is related though.  There are a lot of colds and flu's going around school right now.  Plus this cold, wet, dreary weather doesn't help.  My face gets hot sometimes, but no hot flashes, luckily.  Oh, and I sill have some acne.  Overall, it hasn't been bad yet.  We'll see what its like after I add the stimulating meds in about 8 days or so.  Who knows?!?  I might turn into a Raving Shrew!  I hope not!

Today's Joke.  One of my third graders told it to me today.  Why wasn't Cinderella good at baseball?

Ready?  Because she had a pumpkin for a coach!  LOL!

Shawn and I had a very eventful evening.  We watched Fallen with Denzel Washington on Netflix streaming. Hahaha!

Tomorrow is Friday!!!  Have a good night everyone!

~Sam

Ouchie!

My shot tonight actually hurt a little.  I must have found a more sensitive spot.  It continued to sting for a couple minutes.  I haven't bruised yet, but I have a feeling this one will...  I take my last birth control pill on Saturday.  Mentioning IVF meds, the Lupron is causing acne, which is a common side effect.  It just so happens today is picture day at school.  My lovely yearbook picture is going to be me with a big ole zit on my nose.  Great!  ~Note the sarcasm...

With this cold rainy weather, we wanted comfort food for supper.  I made meatloaf, mashed potatoes, gravy, peas, and macaroni and cheese.  My family loved it!

Now we're watching Last Man Standing on ABC.  With Tim Allen, I can't help but think about Home Improvement.  I loved that show.  I was going to grow up and marry JTT.  Hahahaha!

Edit: Now we're watching Big Bang Theory reruns on TBS.  Sheldon is spending the night with Penny and said he was too tall to sleep on the couch.  He then recited, The Tall Man From Cornwall.   "There was a tall man from Cornwall, whose length exceeded his bed.  'My body fits on it, but barely upon it, there's no room for my big Cornish head'."  This show is so funny!  Lucy is watching it too!  Okay, its funnier if you watch the show and actually see the clip, so here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TeYQDS1u38

About it here...

Monday, October 17, 2011

Its definitely Monday!

Apparently Monday's cause our brains to function at only half their normal capacity.  I can't type today!  Thank goodness I can edit this!  Did your day go by quickly?  Mine zoomed by!

I was going to make meatloaf, but we had pizza instead.  We'll have the mealoaf tomorrow!

I've discovered Bob has a real problem.  Bob is our scarecrow.  It came from someone saying "Bob's your uncle".  I'm not sure if you noticed the Bud Light in his hand in the pics of him from my previous post or not.  You can go back and look.  Well he's holding the beer when I leave every morning, but its on the ground by the time I get home.  Bob gets so intoxicated he can't even hold onto his beer.  Hahaha!!!  Okay, so its the wind, but we have to have some fun!

About it here...  Took my 3rd injection of Lupron tonight!  I've notices it makes me feel a little itchy for an hour or so.  Blech!  It will be so worth it though!!!  I think there is about 9 more Lupron injections (days) until I start the stimulating meds (follistim and menopur) as well as continuing the Lupron.  Please pray this works on the first try!

I'm ready for some football!!!   C'mon Man!!!!!!!!!!!

Take care everyone!

Guess what?!?!

7 more school days before Fall Break!  18 school days after that until Thanksgiving break!  18 school day after that Christmas break!  But who's counting?  I can't believe how quickly this semester is going!

Great morning at Church then we went to mom and dad's for a while.  Watched the Colts lose and had a yummy supper!  Andrew Luck-we're coming for you!

We knew the Colts were going to lose, so dad turned to the IRL race, literally, seconds before the wreck.  Many prayers to Dan Wheldon's family and everyone involved!  I feel bad for his 2 sons.  They are both under 3 years of age.  I hope Pippa Mann and J.R. Hildebrand are okay!

40 minutes until my next injection!  Not nervous about it tonight...

First Injection?

Check √

I have been nervous about it the last two hours.  I have never in my life given myself a shot before.  Shawn watched me.  LOL!  I was afraid to do it, but once I did it, I felt a little foolish.  I hardly felt it.  Now it doesn't seem so bad!

So excited!!!

Night Everyone!

~Sam

Tonight is the big night...

I start my 20 units of Lupron.  I'm ready, but nervous at the same time!  I do this for 11 days, and then I have an ultrasound and blood-work. and we go from there...  I'm supposed to do them in the evening, so I plan on doing them around 8.  I know I'll be home every night at 8. We are excited!!!

I've been Suzy homemaker today!  Swept, mopped, dusted, made 2 pumpkin rolls, and I have Chex Mix in the oven.  The kids have been riding with dad in the tractor since lunch.  I'm not used to time alone.  I don't quite know what to do with myself!

We are having meatball subs tonight for supper.  It just sounded good.

Last night we went and ate at the Boardwalk Cafe and then went to see Real Steel.  It was a great family feel good Speilberg movie.  Now say that 3 times fast!  Haha!  I know I would stumble over it if I tried.  The kids loved it!  There was a bunch of teenagers there that wouldn't be quiet though.  At one point I asked the girls behind us to quiet down.  People...

About it here.  I need to stir the Chex Mix in 1 minute, so I better go.  Have a great weekend everyone!!!!

~Sam

Thursday, October 13, 2011

There's only 2 more days!!!

Until I start injections for IVF!  We're not excited or anything...

It's been a busy day!  It's 8:00 and I finally get to sit down.  I did however get my "teacher" clothes changed into some comfy pants and a t-shirt by about 5:30.  Can't beat that!  I am physically exhausted.  I am more than ready for the weekend...

I burned my arm making supper earlier.  :-(  Nothing bad, just a small annoying mark.  I find a burn to be this annoying tiny ache.  I think that's how I wanted to describe it.  LOL!  I never realized a small burn mark could be hard to explain.  I made a Rachael Ray recipe tonight.  It was Ranch Style Turkey Chili.  Soup is always good on a rainy day.  Tomorrow I'm throwing chicken breast in the crock pot with buffalo sauce.  Shredded buffalo chicken sandwiches.  Either that or we're having subway.  Shawn mentioned going to Subway then the movies.  We were thinking about going to see Real Steel.  Guess we'll wait and see.

What's up with NBC comedies?  They're awful anymore!  We watched an episode of Up All Night last night and I don't think we laughed once.  Not funny...  Right now we're watching a CBS comedy.  We're watching Big Bang Theory.  We're dorky enough that we like it.

Take Care!

Yet another Hump day over with?!?

Guess what?!?!  Today is Wednesday!  I start Lupron injections on Saturday!  3 more days!  Less than that actually...  We're just a little excited, can you tell?

Got a joke for you.  One of my students shared it with me this morning.  "Why was the energizer bunny arrested?  He was charged with battery."  Hahaha!  I love kid humor!  It's better than what happened at recess yesterday.  I had a student come up to me and say, "Mrs. Scott so and so said the B**** word".  And the student actually repeated the word instead of calling it the B word, like he meant to do.  He felt bad as soon as he said it.

I had to deviate from my meal plan again.  Cheesy Chicken and Rice Casserole was on the menu.  Kind of hard to make it when I'm out of rice.  Oops!  I usually do a better job of making sure I have the groceries I need first.  Oh well.  I had chicken thawed, so we have Cajun Chicken Pasta instead.  And chocolate milk.  I have been Jonesing for chocolate for 4 days and I finally gave in.

We didn't stay up to watch Sons of Anarchy last night, so we watched it on DVR earlier.  I, so, didn't see one of the scenes being as intense as it turned out to be.  I hope that made sense.  I also kept flipping my opinion during a scene with Jax.  I was so relieved by how it turned out.  I'm sure if you don't watch SOA, you have no clue what I'm talking about.  That's okay.  Shawn claims he has no clue what I'm talking about most of the time!  LOL!

My third grade class will be taking acuity during the Math block tomorrow, so I will be working on SES lessons instead.  I have not had one moment to devote to it this week.  My days are so crazy-busy!

Welp, I'm off to dream of fluffy bunnies and sunny days!  LOL!

Amen!

I love this time of year!

The stream down the road....

The neighbor's trees...

Abby had cheerleading tonight, so we dropped her off and went outside to walk on the path.  I think the path is around a mile long.  We also ate at the Flora Family Restaurant.  We don't go there often, but we found out that Tuesday's and Thursday's are free for kids.  I got out of cooking and the kids ate for free.  Can't beat that!

Fall break is coming up soon!  I can't wait!  I have my first blood draw and ultrasound the first day of fall break!  We are excited!  If those results turn out well, I get to start all of my stimulating medications.  I start my Lupron on Saturday.  Just 4 more days!!!  Can't tell we're excited, can you?!?!?!?

We're watching 2 1/2 Men right now.  It is not near as funny as it used to be.  IMO...

My Adorable Family...

The kids created this yesterday.

Notice each car has its own parking space?

The kids are helping dad right now.

They're working hard...  LOL!

Working Ground...

Shawn and I made a scarecrow.  As you can see I ran out of stuffing.  He needs a little work yet.

Shawn painted the face.  Cute, isn't he?  ;-)

I love my cute little family!!!

Ahhhhhh!

I seriously freaked out yesterday!  After I blogged last night, Shawn and I went out to the garage to get some things.  When we got inside I screamed because a huge spider (bigger than a 50¢ piece) ran across the floor.  Shawn goes to kill it for me and I take two steps back and run into another huge spider.  As he's coming to kill it, I take a few steps to the right and run into another one.  After that I ran out of the garage freaking out!  There were spiders everywhere in the garage!  Shawn killed at least 10 spiders.  He said one of them was the biggest spider he's ever seen (outside of a zoo or something).   I am terrified of spiders, so being surrounded by them really made me panic.  We keep foggers on hand to fog the house every so often to keep the spiders away.  Shawn pulled the vehicles out and set 4 off in the garage.  When we buy foggers, we make sure it is the kind that also kills spiders.  Shawn is going to sweep the spiders up for me.  There is no way I am stepping a foot in there until I know I am not going to see one.  I've never seen a building overrun with spiders like that before.  It felt like a horror film.  Thank goodness the kids and Shawn are not afraid of spiders!  Its not fun!

Is there a full moon or something???

The kids have been amazing today!  No arguing and they have wanted to help me all day.  The swept and dusted for me!  I'm enjoying it now.  I know in a few years they won't want to help clean the house.  After that we went shopping.  Bought the kids some new winter clothes.  It felt strange buying the kids a new winter coat then climbing in the Durango and starting the AC.  That's Indiana Indian Summers for you.

We brought Pizza Hut home with us for supper.  We haven't had real pizza in a couple months!  Yum!  We ate in front of the TV.  We just watched Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2-Rodrick Rules.  The kids loved it.  I have to admit I laughed a few times as well.

That's about it here.  It's 9:00p.m. and I'm ready for bed.  What a exciting Saturday Night!  Hahahaha!

Is this really all for me?!?!

My IVF meds came today!  Exciting and scary at the same time!

They even came in a cooler with ice packs.  They were still cool when I got home!

Most people make a baby when a daddy's love spills over.  (haha)

Then there are those of us who need a couple, a reproductive endocrinologist, a lab and Dr.'s to run it, an ultrasound tech, nurses, and many outrageously expensive medicines which include: Lupron, Menopur, Follistim, Novarel, Progesterone, and Floxin.  Don't forget all of the syringes and needles.  (I saw someone else post something similar recently and I liked it.)

I think that about sums it up.  C'mon October 15th.  I'm ready to start the Lupron...

Wednesday, October 5, 2011

3 days come and gone already?!?!

My days zoom by so quickly!  I wish things would slow down a little.  Right now we are watching Ghost Hunters.  Jason has his daughter Haily with him this episode.  Its so cool to see his daughter follow in his footsteps.  Sons of Anarchy was good last night.  What is Juice thinking?!  I love watching these shows with Shawn!  I'm so glad we have the same tastes in shows and movies.  We are so made for each other!

I started working on SES lessons yesterday.  Definitely keeps me busy...  SES stands for Supplemental Educational Services; better known as after school tutoring.  I tutored after school last year and made decent money doing it.  Okay, it was better than decent.  It was pretty darn good.  I will be tutoring again this year.  It starts next month.  Right now I have taken on the task of finding, copying, and creating 22 lessons for each grade level we plan on offering SES.  I will then send them up to the print shop at the high school to be copied for each tutor and student.  I have made good progress in 2 days.  Most lessons have lesson plans typed up, but I will need to type up the rest.

This might sound crazy, but I like doing this.  I know what needs to be taught, I know what (I anticipate) these students will struggle with, and where they will need the extra help.  I hope to spend a good amount of time on it this weekend and get it ready to go.  I am kind of crazy like that.  When I take on a task; and this is a rather large one; I try to complete it as quickly and proficiently as I can.  I do not procrastinate on big important projects like this.

I do, however, procrastinate on my repetitive grading and filing.   I was behind on grading, recording, and filing my student's papers; so I brought them home and worked on them for 2 1/2 hours last night.  I am all caught up now!  Yeah!

I am excited!  10 more days until the 15th!  10 more days until I start my Lupron injections!  Woohooo!!!!!

Monday Wisdom... LOL!

"I think we consider too much the good luck of the early bird, and not enough the bad luck of the early worm." - Franklin Delano Roosevelt

The Colts-Bucc's game is on. Go Colts! Sadly, I fear 0-4 is in our future! I will forever cheer the Colts on anyway...

Pretty boring around here... We had leftover Chicken Fajita Soup and leftover Sausage Casserole for supper. Tomorrow is Ham & Beans in the crock pot and cornbread.

Goooooo Cooolllltttttssssss!!!!!!!!!!! Go BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Autumn

At least we went to a game that Purdue actually won!  Notre Dame is giving them a spanking and its just the first quarter.  I imagine the Colts game will be similar.

Last night we went out to eat at Red Lobster.  Yum!  We had a great time with Tink, Mike, and Sara.  We go every year for the shrimp fest.  I don't think I've ever seen the kids eat so much before.  The four of us even split dessert.  I even paid.  LOL!  We say whoever got paid last is the one buying.  My check got deposited Friday morning, so...  I guess I'm not living off of someones back after all.  Hahaha!  I couldn't resist!

I've taken almost 2 weeks of birth control.  I should start my injections for IVF on the 15th.  I am very excited about that!

We haven't done much of anything today.  Shawn mowed the yard, I picked up the house a little, and I did a little laundry.  We also finished season 3 of Sons of Anarchy.  We missed Season 4 Episode 1 & 2.  We didn't get them on our DVR, so unfortunately, I don't know if we will get to watch them.  We did DVR episode 3 & 4.  Anyone know where we could watch them online?

I went outside and took a few pictures about sundown.  I posted some of them.  Thor kept me company, he even made sure he was in a few pictures.  Its supposed to get down to 36° tonight.  I love it!  C'mon frost!

I feel like some James Whitcomb Riley now...

When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder's in the shock,
And you hear the kyouck and the gobble of the struttin' turkey-cock,
And the clackin'; of the guineys and the cluckin' of the hens
And the rooster's hallylooyer as he tiptoes on the fence;
O it's then the times a feller is a-feelin' at his best,
With the risin' sun to greet him from a night of peaceful rest,
As he leaves the house, bareheaded, and goes out to feed the stock,
When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder's in the shock

Fall has Arrived
