My happy fish.

They're smiling because they have a clean pond. Can you tell?  LOL!

~Sam

Wednesday Already

I must have the flu.  I feel horrible.  I'm not running a fever, but my body temperature is 98ish.  All I want to do is sleep.  I couldn't get myself to wake up until 8:30.  I went back to bed at 11:30.  I then got up at 2:30 and I'm ready for another nap.  I have some slight nasal congestion and body aches.  This is going to sound crazy, but I feel like I did after our embryo transfer when the baby was implanting.  Crazy, I know!

Anyway~

Things are going great here.  I cleaned up my pond and now its running without plugging up!  Yeah!  Abby helped me take bucket loads of water out of it until I was satisfied that I had the worst of it.  My fish are very happy now.  Mentioning my fish, wow did they grow!  I left them in there all winter long.  Maybe I can get a picture of them and post on here later.  I also cleaned out the refrigerator.  How does that happen?  Every time I clean it, I vow to never let it get messy again.  It inevitably happens anyway.  I blame the husband and kids!  LOL!

We had a great weekend!  We went to my sister-in-laws 30th birthday party.  We had a cookout.  We had a lot of fun!  I got to see all of the nieces and play with them!

Sunday we had a cookout on my side.  I got to see a lot of people I don't see often.

It was hot this weekend, but it was so nice to see everyone!

Memorial Day

They are dead; but they live in each Patriot's breast,
And their names are engraven on honor's bright crest.

My oops from earlier.

Not sure you can see them both, but they are there none the less.  My phone came UPS a little bit ago, so we ran into Logansport.  I had to take a pic with my new phone.  Have a great evening!

Pinterest

I love Pinterest!

Here is a healthy low carb recipe I made for lunch today:

Here are some pics of mine.  As the cheese melted, my tomatoes slid down some.  I also didn't have any fresh basil, so I mixed some dry basil with some olive oil and Parmesan cheese.  I mixed them in a pan on the stove on low heat.  I cut out the stems and laid them bottoms down on my grill pan.  I then flipped them over after a few minutes, added my toppings, then put them in the oven.  We loved them!  I'm so lucky my kids love healthy food!  Yum!!!

As I was cutting off the stems, I made a not so intelligent move. I was using my super sharp Cutco Bird's Beak Paring Knife and cut my thumb.  Not just in 1 place, but 2.  Because the knife is curved, I cut the pad of my thumb as well as lower down on the base of my thumb.  After bleeding through 2 bandaids, Shawn poured alcohol on the cuts, put Neosporin on them, wrapped my thumb in gauze, and taped me up.  Oops!  Leave it to me to do something so silly...

I hope my phone comes in today.  Wednesday evening my phone stopped working.  I downloaded an app called my fitness pal, which I had downloaded before I had to reset my phone recently.  It really helps me track my carbs and calories.  By the way, I lost another pound this week for a total of 26 pounds!  I digress.  Back to the main subject...  After I downloaded the app, I clicked open and my phone went dark.  I took out the battery and restarted it.  The HTC screen came up, the U.S. Cellular screen came up, then it went dark again.  I called tech support and they had me take steps to reset my phone to factory settings.  If it worked, then it was the app.  If it didn't work, then it was the phone.  It didn't work.  After that, my phone kept restarting over and over and over again.  I think it did that 4 or 5 times while I was on the phone with the tech before he said it was the phone.  They contacted HTC, and I have a new phone coming.  They said it would be here in 2-3 days.  I drove in to U.S. Cellular in Logansport yesterday to get a loner phone.  I now have an old flip phone.  At least its a phone.

About it here.  Have a wonderful day!

Pacers

C'mon Pacers!  You can beat the Heat!  They keep playing a Linkin Park song before and after each commercial break.  It's getting stuck in my head.  Here it is:

Night!

Go Yankees!!!

Our Yankees beat the Dodgers tonight!  The Dodgers won by the 10 run rule in the 4th the last time we played them.  We won 16-9 tonight!  I am so proud of the whole team!  I am so proud of Zac!  He's does a great job as catcher!  Oh dear, the husband said I needed to add him and the coaching staff in here.  Blah Blah yadda yadda they were good to...  LOL!

After the game was over, we stuck around a little while and watched part of the next game.  I had a student ask me if I would stay and watch him for a bit.  Of course, I can't say no.  A.) I enjoy watching the games and B.) I love cheering on my students!  I love that they want me to watch them!

That's about it here.  Tomorrow is the last day of school!!!  It's like Friday and Christmas altogether!  LOL!  Like my analogy?

So me!

TGIF!!!

Only 3 more days left of school!!!

Shawn and I are watching Apollo 18 right now.  Don't read any further if you don't want it ruined for you.  I'm not going to lie, I've jumped several times.  Darn alien movies freak me out.  Especially when the alien has quite a few legs like spiders do.  Ahh!!!  Nate just got pulled down into the crater!  I knew it was coming, but I still jumped.  Ahhh!  The rocks are really spider like creatures!!!  I'm freaking out a little.  Now they won't let the astronaut go back home.

We have deer that like to tease Lucy.  They were up behind our house last night and tonight.  We let her try and run them down.  They wait until she gets pretty close before taking off.  Do you know in the cartoons when the character run so fast, they stir up a cloud of dust?  That's what it looks like when Lucy chases them.  I need to take camera footage so you can see it.  It's really dry out there!  I need to go water my flowers in the dark as soon as this movie is over.

We finished filling our pool and started the pump yesterday.  Wow is it disgusting!  It's going to take a lot of work.

Here's some cottonwood from baseball games.

About it here.

Oh the drama!

Note: You should read this next line with some sarcasm.

I can't believe my husband could be so cruel to me!  So horrible!  Oh, the heartbreak!

Let me start at the beginning...  Once upon a time, in the morning on her way to work, there was a lady who wanted to call her husband.  She picked up her cell phone and dialed her loving husband's number.  It rang once and then went straight to voice-mail.  So she tried again.  She wondered if maybe his phone was shut off on accident.  She sends him a text message and gets a response after a while.  At the end of the day on her way home, the caring wife tries to call her husband again.  Yet again, it rings once and goes straight to voice-mail.  The wife calls the house phone and her husband answers.  She asks if his phone is shut off.  He responds with a no.  The concerned wife explains that she can't get a hold of him.  He calls her phone with no problem.  The wife gets home and they make several calls to see if they can establish the problem.

The husband calls his cell phone from the house phone.  No problem.  The wife called a few other people to see if it happened with other calls.  No problem there either.  Strange...  The wife calls U.S. Cellular on the house phone to explain the situation.  The tech had the wife try several things.  Nothing was working.  The tech informs the wife that an app she downloaded could be causing the problem.  Battery savers have been known to cause such problems. As a last resort, the tech has the wife wipe her phone clean of everything except what was on her SD card.  EVERYTHING!  APPS, bookmarks, etc.  The husband is in the background griping that she needs to just hang up and text him if she wants to get a hold of him from now on.  He continued to gripe that they needed to get going to their son's baseball game.  The wife explained to the tech that she needed to leave, so he explains the rest of the steps it takes to reset her phone and then re-enter her contacts from her SD card.  The tech says he will call her back in a few hours if he is able to, to see if the problem has been solved.

The wife hangs up, jumps in the vehicle with her phone in pieces.  The back is off, the itty bitty SD card is out to make sure it doesn't get erased, and the battery is also out.  Her husband peels out of the driveway to ensure they are not late while the wife tries to put her phone back together.  She finally gets it all together, turns it on, and calls her husband.  What do you think happened?  You  guessed it.  Rang once and went straight to voice-mail.  The wife had no more time to deal with it because they had arrived at the ballpark.  The husband is grouchy to the wife.  The coach overhears and directs a question to the wife.  He asks if the husband is hungry, because that's how he acts when he's hungry.  The husband admits he is hungry and frustrated.  The coach informs the couple that he's also had cell phone issues.

The couple leave the cell phones alone for a while.  After the game, the couple, their children, and the grandparents decide to get a bite to eat.  The wife complains because she wants to avoid carbs as much as possible.  She is on a low carb diet.  They settle on Subway where the wife has a salad.  While there, this very nice coach from the opposing team asks them if their son was the catcher.  We tell him he is correct.  The nice gentleman tells them their son is a very good catcher and that he was impressed.  The parents are very proud of the son!

After eating, they head home.  Both cell phones are dying, so the wife plugs them in as soon as she gets in the house.  The tech does not call back, so the wife places another call.  She gets another tech and explains the situation.  This tech says she thinks the problem stems from the husband's phone.  She made sure the wife was on the house phone, the husband's phone, and the wife's phone were in hand.  She has the wife go into the husband's contacts.  She has the wife look to see if he has any blocked callers.  Oh, you guessed it!  The husband has the wife blocked!  Out of the 100or so contacts, the husband accidentally blocked his wife while his cell phone was in his pocket.  This tech informs her it is a common occurrence and that another couple had called in earlier with the exact same issue.   The wife was not pleased that she erased EVERYTHING from her phone only to find out the issue was that simple.  The wife spends the rest of the night half-watching Ghost Hunters (Grant's last episode) while re-downloading all her apps, setting her passwords, etc...

Moral of the story, make sure someone isn't blocked before erasing everything.  Men!

;-)

My boyfriends!

Don't tell Shawn! LOL!

As usual, things have been crazy busy! The usual, baseball, cheerleading, etc. On Saturday, Shawn and I went to the Lauren Alaina, Luke Bryan, and Jason Aldean concert in Fort Wayne. We had a blast!

Here is my boyfriend Jason Aldean!

Here is my boyfriend Luke Bryan! Wow, can he shake it!!!

My Boyfriend Jason Aldean again...

The view from our hotel window!

At the baseball field in Delphi, the cottonwood trees have been shedding cotton lately. Here is a pic of it on my leg after only 10 minutes.  You can't really see them well though...  Of course, this makes me think of the Luke Bryan song called Drunk on You. The first line is: Cottonwood falling like snow in July... It's only May though...

I have determined that I listen to way too much music. Nah! That can't really happen. I sang almost every Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean song word for word. I listen to all kinds of music. These are the stations programmed in my Durango:

Z92.5 WZWZ Kokomo
93.5 KHY
94.7 Q95
Z96.5 WAZY
Shine 99
100.5 WWKI
102.3 Mix 102
B102.9
103.3 X103
103.7 Hoosier Country
105.3 K105
106.7 K-LOVE

Yes, I do have them in order in my Durango as well...  Mentioning stations.  Did you know that Fort Wayne has a B102.9 and well as a K105 (105.1)???  Strange, huh?

I drive Shawn crazy because I am a channel flipper. If its something I don't like or they start talking, I flip the channel. I can't help it!

The Yankees lost by 1 point tonight. It was a good game! Go Zac!!! They are now 1-4. They are so close every game. I can't believe the growth they have shown since the first game... Better yet, the first practice! Go Yankees!!!

That's about it here.  Take Care!!!
